Tom is a Partner at Cambridge Associates, based in Arlington, VA, and joined the firm in 2007. During his career at CA he has been a leader and champion for helping clients invest their portfolios for impact and mission alignment. Tom helped launch and has continuously worked to advance the firm’s Sustainable and Impact Investing (SII) Platform, a global team that enables clients to cultivate high-caliber  and sustainable investment portfolios. He is currently co-chair of the firm’s SII Council, and a member of the team focused on Cambridge Associates alignment with, and execution of, its Net Zero commitment.

As an investor, Tom leads a team that partners with mission-driven institutions and families and builds investment programs and portfolios designed to meet critical financial and client alignment objectives. Beyond portfolio management, Tom engages in research, writing, and learning with clients.

Tom has more than two decades experience in impact finance. Before joining Cambridge Associates, Tom served as an analyst with Agora Partnerships, investing impact capital in SMEs in Central America, and as a consultant to World Bank in Brazil, where he evaluated educational investments in Latin America.

Tom began his career in technology marketing, served two years as a Team Leader in AmeriCorps NCCC, helped launch the ZOOB play system from start-up stage, and spent four years as the Director of Program Development for KaBOOM!, a community-focused non-profit.

Tom has earned an MBA from Duke University where he was an inaugural CASE Scholar, a Master of Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill, and a BA from Stanford University where he was a scholarship athlete and member of the 1993 NCAA Champion Water Polo team.
