Neeta Hatley is the Vice President, Controller, Treasury and Financial Operations at National Audubon Society. Audubon’s mission is to protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. Three drivers underpin everything Audubon does: using a hemispheric approach to conservation; addressing the impact of climate change; and integrating equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in everything it does.

Prior to joining the conservation world, Neeta held leadership positions in the humanitarian and human rights sectors, including the United Nations (UN). Based at the UN headquarters, she led the strategic implementation and harmonization of international public sector standards to increase transparency, accuracy, accountability and reporting of 24 UN agencies across the globe, including  UNICEF, WFP, UNFCCC, FAO and UNDP. An advisor to the UN’s Assistant Secretary General, she also provided support on financial and budget matters at the UN General Assembly’s Fifth Committee. At UN Women, Neeta led the financial strategy and planning of the project aimed at accelerating gender equality and breaking gender stereotypes.

Neeta has also served on the Executive Team at International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region, providing strategic direction on financial matters, and leading a team focusing on operations in the U.S., London and Latin America.

Neeta is a former auditor with Big 4 experience, specializing in financial services including hedge funds, private equities, mutual funds and insurance companies. She is a New York State CPA, and an Australia CPA, and holds her Bachelor (Hons.) and post-graduate degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Melbourne and Monash University in Australia.
